Mobile app — Android

Oddech

Paces your breathing on screen. Saves timestamps with a single tap.

The app does two things and nothing else. There is no account, no sign-in and no server. Entries and settings stay in the phone's memory.

What it does

Breathing pacer

A circle on the screen grows and shrinks at a steady pace that you set yourself. One word shows underneath it: inhale or exhale. The phone vibrates briefly at every phase change, so the rhythm can be kept without looking at the screen. You stop and resume the pacer with the same button, at any moment.

Timestamps

One large button saves the current time. The entry goes onto a list inside the app and stays in the phone's memory. A short note can be added to an entry, but it is optional. The whole list can be deleted in the settings.

Tutorial and settings

A four-step tutorial walks through both screens and can be skipped at any point. In the settings you choose the phase lengths — 4 s / 6 s, 5 s / 5 s, 4 s / 8 s or 3 s / 3 s — and turn the vibration on or off.

What this app does not do

  • It does not measure heart rate, breathing or any other signal from the body.
  • It does not score, rate or keep daily streaks.
  • It sends no notifications and does not remind you about itself.
  • There is no account, no sign-in and no server.
  • It shows no ads and contains no in-app purchases.

Privacy

Entries and settings stay in the phone's memory. The app sends no data to anyone and contains no analytics or advertising tools. The version published on Google Play does not even hold the network access permission. Uninstalling removes the data together with the app.
